4 12's vs 2 15's

i have two 12 inch mtx 5500. I was thinking of getting two more of the same speakers or getting two 15 inch kicker l7 06. Which one should i do?

With the right size PORTED box tuned right with about 2000rms each those 06 L7s i think will kill the output of the 4 12's. Be careful of what u wish for my 1 06 12" L7 with 1100 rms is almost unbearable but i love it.

Make sure 2 get the 06 versions. They own the older versions

i need something with a lot of output because i have a 95 cadillac sedan deville and the trunk is so sealed off hardly any sound can get through. If I switch to the l7's, would i have to get a new alternator and wires?

It's pretty certain that enough amplifier(s) to properly drive a pair of 15" L7s would draw considerably more current than whatever you're using on those 5500-series MTX 12s.

for some reason i thought the post said 9500, but yea 2 L7s should beat 4 5500s

Well it aint unbearable but it gives me migranes. Im starting to get used to it tho. The first day i had it gave me the first headache ive ever gotten and i had to go to sleep.

Ure system prolley wouldnt give me a headache but blow my head off. Didnt u have 4 18's or something?

No i thought ure old setup was like 4 of something.

And ive heard that the 15 L7s aree mean with about 2000rms each

ive heard from 1000-1400 is a good amt, havnt really read into them much, i would suggest people that arnt to keen with car audio to try running double the rms or way over it, it will be hell in the end
