4 12"mtx 7500 vs. 4 15" mtx 8000

Okay, I think Iam a little confused. wouldn't 4 8ohm dual VC subs yeild either a 4 or 16 ohm load to the amp?

Judging off of RF's website 4 DVC subs are either double or half of what one VC would be. IE: 4 2ohm DVC subs would yield a 1 or 4 ohm load and 4 4ohm DVC subs would yield a 2 or 8 ohm load. Am I correct?

Nope, (4) 8 ohm DVC subs would yield a 1 or 4 ohm load to the amp. It's a matter of simple division really. In a parallel wiring configuration 8ohm coils divided by the number of 8 ohm coils, which in this situation is 8 because there are 4 dual VC subs will present a 1 ohm load to the amp. 8 divided by 8 is 1 ohm and that is the load the amp sees. In a series/parallel wiring configuration using (4) 8 ohm subs, series wiring each sub would yield a single 16 ohm sub because the two 8 ohm VCs are now series wired. If you do this to all four woofers then you will have (4) 16 ohm woofers. Then it is typical to wire the woofers in a bridged load to the amp, in this case (4) 16 ohm woofers would yield a 4ohm load because 16 ohms divided by 4 woofers is 4 ohms. I hope this explanation is clear, if not I will find a site that will help you in your adventures.

Think of it this way; You have four 8ohm DVC subs. Wire each individual subs coils in parallel. What do you have now? You have four subs that are 4ohm each, right? Now, wire those four (4ohm each) subs in parallel with each other, and you now have a single 1ohm load.
