4 10"s in a crown vic??? "Little help"

Ok guys my buddy asked me to do 4 type-X 10s in the trunk of his 06 crown vic. I didnt get a chance to look at his trunk yet but Im sure its been done, just looking for some pics and ideas for this build. Hes wants it ported so Im thinking somewhere around 1.6cu.ft each, Does the vic's trunk have the room?

The R's call for 1.3max but they about half the size I was just thinks 1.6 b4 displacement but What do you think I should go with?

well if i was gonna go ported id buy a different subwoofer to be honest...and depending on the power he will be running id prolly do ported...prolly around 1.3 depending on the displacment and id just use two 6" aero's

Fair enough... what do you think would be a good sub around the same price and power range. Hes kinda stuck on the X's but only b/c the power that can take

I ask b/c I dont know so thanks for the heads up on this

search around for some type R info on here. If you dont know much about them you will be very surprised at the power they can take, and the numbers they can achieve.

And, I dont see a issue with the Type X ported, friend has a 12" in 2ft3 net tuned to 30hz firing into his cabin, sounds nice.

High qts, low EBP value...getting a ported box with a good response curve is going to have to be big and tuned low. Trying to port a high qts driver in a normal ported box normally results in the box peaking a good deal above the tuning frequency and lacking

search around for some type R info on here. If you dont know much about them you will be very surprised at the power they can take, and the numbers they can achieve.

I own Type Rs and Xs... the Type Rs are a great subs and can take some power, but hes looking for something around 1000-1500 RMS

My Rs took about that a few times but I would never give them that all day everyday

But most people either don't care or don't notice, so having it in a normal ported setup might be ok for them...not for me though.

x2, what kind of budget does he have? For the price of the X's he can probably grab something that handles just as much power and actually will excel in a ported box.
