4 10" pioneers or 2 12" Type R's for spl

x2 assuming your smart enough to power everthing correctly the pioneers will kill the Type Rs in SPL ....overall cone area
type rs will sound alot better and last longer

Ummm.... Cone area matters more in sealed setups. Honestly I have heard 2 12's butt hump 4 15's. same power. and the 12's were more musical to top it off. Box and the driver is much more important than the cone area! From those subs I would say the two type r's. BUT recently(yesterday) started to play with one of the pioneer tsw307's and in my 4th order per amount of power the pioneer seems louder. But that may only be true in my box. On standard ported may be a different story

Actually thought of an example. Mr. potts in meca Ran 2 12's in a series bandpass (special box but this still falls under my example) did a 153.4 reality on a lab. I think a 154 legal. Off one orion 2500D. And from the videos I seen it was decently musical and low. Did massive hair tricks with just 2 12's. There again in correct install and driver ...cone area is a very small portion of what matters
