This is not wire like you find in Home Depot, this is fine stranded wire used for industrial tool power. The system that this wire was used on is a 400 volt 300 amp service for each tool, so it is made for large current and higher voltages.

that is just what it is used on.. this stuff is rated at 600v.. couldn't find amperage

lol your wrong too, 2 4awg=0awg so 4 4awg would=2/0.............8 4awg=4/0
This is also wrong, Wikipedia is your friend. Cross-sectional area of true American Gauge 4AWG is 21.2 mm^2. 1AWG is 42.2 mm^2, so its more accurate to say that 2x4AWG = 1x1AWG. 1/0 AWG is 53.3 mm^2. This wire here however is a whopping 107 mm^2, which is about 5x4AWG, and is exactly double that of a single 1/0 AWG cable. Which actually makes it the perfect size for serious audio installs, as the most I've ever seen used is 2x1/0 runs for power. I'm sure there are builds out there that use more, but I'm not into looking at SPL setups. Source.

Should handle up to 400 amps of power draw and not break a sweat. Had to look around a bit to find this figure, but makes sense now that I think about it. Exactly double of a 1/0s cross sectional area, which handle about 200, 210 amps. So double that. Beastly!

Anyway, sorry to hijack thread, just a lot of misinformation going around. This is beastly and I eagerly await the day that I will require this sort of copper for my audio system //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif. Till then, GLWS!

In a 12V-14V, short run system like your car, this will handle up to 400 amps of power draw and not break a sweat.
