Actually Gore MORE than had a chance.........he WON the popular vote but because Bush and the right wing had the right people in the right places they stopped the recount. Make NO mistake about it....GORE got more votes than dumbo ears did.

We've always had national debt.

With Clinton, we had 2 years of surplus, but we were still in debt.

When Clinton was in office, the National Debt was reduced to just a little over 5 trillion. Present day, our National Debt is right around 8.3 trillion

Oh...and what did Clinton want to do with the surplus money? Aid SS...

Social Security is going to go bankrupt in the near future...and we are going to be the ones that are going to hurt from it. SS will always be there- the Government has an obligation to take care of Social Security...but it's going to kill our economy IMO.
