Well, what do you all think? ordering the rest of my gear tomorrow hopefully so i want to start building the two boxes before my subs show up and taunt me from the corner of my bedroom.

Putting these in a Ford explorer. I have enough room for up to 3.5 cu ft for each box (type r's will each have their own ported enclosure). The alpine specs say 3 cubes, but i see a lot of people get up to around 4 cubes.

Opinions please!!! 3 cubes @ 32 hz or 3.5 cubes at 32hz? what will the difference be? Thanks!

I vote 5 cubes at 34hz, only cuz I know it sounds badass and so far everyone else that has listened to it at the local car show thinks the same.

Click the pic to be brought to the build log if it...

Let me know if you want a cutout sheet? The box is roughly 36.5x26x14.5

Wait 5 cubes TOTAL for two 15's? I thought that would be kinda low hehe. are you runnin 12's or 15's? I asked this question thinking 3 cubes each might be a little small //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

My limit of space is 7 cubes, and i want two enclosures (leaving 3.5 cubes for each sub)

oo cut and paste didnt work too well hehe, well its showing the pieces for the subwooder with width and height. thats the plan that i thougth would work, where the sub will be on the red side of the design. Im kinda leary about the end of the port facing towards the rear of the sub tho. Does that matter? Can i move that purple piece to make a 90 degree angle with the light blue one and keep the same tu ning?

hmm point up? i have a Type-E ive been screwing around with for a while (been fun lol, but i think im gonna sell it off to one of my buddies tomorrow cheap). Its in a sealed enclosure i guess, but it sounded horrible when pointed up. Could barely here it. When the waves bounce off the back door/hatch/whatever it sounds much better.

A ported box is going to act completely different from a sealed one, especially with the equipment you are going to put in there. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

yeah from your sig sounds like you know yer shit too. hmmm maybe i will do that then. Guess that would be better then the subs facing the door with only about 5 inches of space heh.
