3.5'' or 4''

I have a pair of alpine type s 4'' speakers, and a pair if infinity reference speakers that are 3.5''.

I'm going to put one set in the pathhfinder (cause its just a beater car) so I will be selling one set to a friend for some experiment thing idk.

Anyways, he wants the 4'', but i'm telling him I wanna keep them.

So if I were to sell the 4'' ones to him, would I even notice a difference in sound if I used the 3.5'' in the pathfinder (its bottom of each door).

or should I say screw you take the 3.5'' or none at all because the 4'' would be way better in the car/

what do you think.

Honestly, I cant see it being a huge difference between the too. I say listen to them both and keep the one you like better.

I know you said the Pathfinder is a beater, but why not see if you can enlarge the opening and put something bigger their like a 5.25 or a 6.5? It will sound much better.

I would go by whichever sounds the best, no the size of the speaker.

Well I gotta sell one pair soon cause im strapped for cash. But the other pair wont get installed for about a month.

And the openeing in the car now is a 6.5 but i dont have any spare speakers of those around.
