its my first slot port enclosure, ive always used aeros b4..ure right, should have done that but it didnt spill much at all...and i never trusted glue, thats why the screws, put some bracing in today, and put it together..now just to silicone the rear side and its done...ill see for carpeting wanna listen to it first, see if i did ok, or a new one is necessary..

thank you for the input

i figure as long as i dont **** up the mdf integrity, only one rule applies for screws, the more the merrier...and i place the 3 inches or so apart, so i think it shouldnt be a problem...and i cant use just glue cuz i dont have adequate clamps

That's not true. The more screws you apply, the weaker your joint becomes. MDF is basically sawdust that is glued together in layers. Those layers can separate easily if you put too many screws in, and no, it doesn't matter how much you pre-drill the holes.

If I use screws, I try to use either one or two per side, even if the side is 30" long or so.

update, i did an aftermath of the box and found a quite unpleasent surprise..i calculated the port wrong, now its time for damage control..the port is too wide, now i need 2 25x38x2.5 cm mdf plates to narrow it...have to wait till monday to see if they even have it that thick
