2x12" or 1x15" ???

Hey everybody.

I'm building my first decent car audio system. It will consist of:

- Subaru Legacy

- front - 6.5" Lanzar components

- rear - 6x9 pioneer

- speaker amp is Sony Xplod XM-404EQX - http://www.crutchfield.com/S-VJLl8fDT4xC/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?i=158XM404EQ

thats all i got now. I cant decide about subs, and I was hoping you guys can help me.

I'm able to get very decent price on Sony XM-2150GSX ( http://www.crutchfield.com/cgi-bin/S-cNHK6bn8Svx/ProdView.asp?s=0&c=3&g=110&I=158XM2150&o=m&a=0 )

The only thing I cant decide on (due to my lack of xperience) is whether to go with single 15" sub or twin 12" subs. Which configuration would suit that amp. Due to space and budget reasons I cant go for twin15". Can I have some pros and cons for each solution ? As well please note that i'm not after biggest boom, but mainy after sound quality.

As well which kind of box would you ppl recommend ???

for example i was thinking about simple ported box, cutting speakers at 100Hz, all lower frequencies will goto sub. I heard that bandpass box is even louder, but not as good in quality.

any suggestoins/comments greatly appreciated.

my suggestions, ditch the rears, and find something better for your fronts. use the money you saved from ditching the 6x9's for better fronts, and put a small amp on them...can be anywhere from 40x2 to 150+x2, and youll be WAY better off. i suggest a jbl 180.2, a 1200.1 and a pair adire audio shiva's or elemental designs 15k or pair of 12k's...no matter which way you choose, you cant lose. id suggest some nice components up front. if you have the budget, check out the adire audio koda's...6.5 + tweet component set. cost ya quite a bit, but gives you WAY more value than most anything else 2x the cost.
