2ohm+2ohm v.s. 4ohm+4ohm

I am going to get a JBL 1200.1 mono amplifier and 2 12" Alpine Type-R subs. There are two types of these subs: 2ohm + 2ohm and 4ohm+4ohm. I still dont get the difference between these so help me out whats the difference and which ones should i get. The amp wiill be running on two ohms if that makes a difference...

Also do u guys think 600 watts to each sub will be too much.

Get the DVC 2 ohm ones and the JBL 600.1...wire it in series/parallel (I'll give you a pic on how to) for a 2 ohm load to the amp...each sub will get 3-325 watts, right at its RMS.

yeah i kno u tolld me but everyone else i asked said they could handle them... I just called Alpine today and the dude said that they could handle them ok as well.

I would be extremely careful...600 watts to a Type-R isnt too great of an idea, unless its an 15"

they you will come on here and tell us how they are smelling like burnt shit or they stopped working....do the 600.1 and use it...the 1200.1 is a waste...

rrrrr are u guys sure im afraid the 600.1 wont be enough power. Cuz for double the power it doesnt cost all the much more.

The RMS on the subs is 300 watts...the amp puts out 600, 300 to each sub...

the 600 is even a little under rated...you will be just fine with the 600

you'll definately blow your subs as soon as you turn your car on... 600.1 JBL would do the job perfectly...
