usually when im blasting my music at full volume for lets say 10-15 min it gets pretty warm, then if i go up to like a half hour it will get so hot that if i keep my hand on it for like 10 sec i will seriously get a minor burn, my gains and all that shit is set right, is this normal for the 2500d to get this hot? its bein run at 1 ohm for two 12" L7's

3/4 is as high as you should ever go... past that you are clipping your head unit, which then clips the signal to every other part of your system... making it sound like poo and blow...
x2. i didn't say you couldn't listen to it loud, just saying that full volume will possibly cause your equipment to fail and permanent hearing damage. there's notihing wrong with moderate listening levels and having the potential to show up some ricer kid who thinks he's the shit.

What kind of person wants to hear loud music? Thats unheard of, but all amps heat up, except a superconductive one with no resistance. Depends how long you run it and what percentage of it's max output your using it on, also what kind of location it's in is vital whether it's well ventilated or under a seat etc...I wouldn't worry about it, I think on the bright side, now you can cook eggs inside your car.

err, just because you clip your hu, doesnt mean youre clipping your amp.

to an amp, that clipped input signal is just another signal it has to reproduce.

Weird man, I was just coming to the amplifier section to make the exact same post!

So yea, mine runs hot, but mine is at .7 ohm.

Long story short, the lower the ohms the hotter the amp can get @ high volumes for more than 30 min of play. Especially it the amp is not getting enough constant power.
