Am I the dumba@@ here???
Just thaught I was answering the question???
Do I really not deserve to be on the forum?
I'm not extremely keen on what the HL did, how it worked, etc...rf's amp from my reading on it is essentially what HL did back in the early/mid 90's with the queen. only difference is the queen used essentially it's own generator to make the power where as the rf uses built in caps? if i'm wrong please correct me.
the harrisons labs db drag queen basically had it's own power supply in it able to withstand the 10kw it was rated at for like 30 seconds and only draw a supposed "150amps of current". I'm wondering if the RF amp will be banned like the drag queen was. I mean if it uses enough capacitance like the drag queen did, wouldn't you think they'd ban it as it really is an external charging source acting as an amplifier?I'm not extremely keen on what the HL did, how it worked, etc...
But basically the RF amplifier just uses a shit load of internal capacitance, so that on demanding/high output passes it uses less power from the electrical system and suppliments that power with the power stored in it's internal capacitance. Net effect? It can only support that 15kw of power output for less than 16 seconds....not exactly what I'd call "continuous power output" //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif It's more like a 4kw RMS amplifier with 15kw of burst power. And yes, it'll only draw a maximum of 350A...but it'll have a high continuous power draw since it has to continually charge those internal caps. So, they traded off less peak current consumption for increased average current consumption.
Like I said in the thread in the amplifier section.....I personally hope this technology never makes it's way into consumer grade amplifiers.
I *think* I've heard that the RF won't be banned. IIRC the Drag Queen essentially had an internal battery, whereas the RF just uses capacitance (which is found in every amplifier....the RF just has *more* of it).the harrisons labs db drag queen basically had it's own power supply in it able to withstand the 10kw it was rated at for like 30 seconds and only draw a supposed "150amps of current". it was in caraudio and electronics 2006 product guide
That is Richard Clark's //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif...David Navone's 60" Thunder 1,000,000 (sponsored by MTX FTW) > XMX.
even though it wont play past 20 hz.
or just richard clark. 95% of that was richard's design.david navone and richard clark's.
