Hey guys. Quick question... I want to put a Samsung 23" TV in my car and just run the audio/video to the back of my in Avic Z2. The question is, if the TV is put into a location that is not accesable, only visible, is there a way to wire it so I can turn it on via a switch or signal sensing so when video is being played? Not sure how head rest TV's are set up, but the 17" drop down in my SUV has to be turned on manually by a button on the unit. If I can set this up through a switch, I plan to set a few switches on the dash to turn on the head rest TV's and the Samsung. Thanks in advance.

so the samsung is a 120VAC unit or no?

you can use relays to turn on everything, but you may have to disassemble the units in question to access the power on switch of the TV

so put a multimeter at the power on switch and figure out what it is sending through to power the TV on. Then just set up a circuit and use a high current POT to adjust the voltage if it is DC or an invertor for AC to trigger the power on it.

hmmm... Should I hit up radio shack or just order these online?

So all I will need is a multimeter and a AC invertor? This seems simple enough. I am pretty good with electronics (stereo, computers, ect) but have never had a reason to pull apart an LCD. I was going to mount the LCD up against plexi glass and the screen itself is going in a fiberglass enclosure with the circuit boards. hope that makes sense. - Mike

makes sense, but you mentioned that you wanted to turn it on from up front, to have that capability, you will need to access the power button circuit and simulated pressing the button via a switch,

Well the car is for show and go. I have 5 custom switches total on the dash for nitrous ect. So I assumed I could hook up the power to a simple switch. Just flip on/off.
