How many people really skip rear speakers in their cars? Does it leave a giant gap in your sound?
Would make my system install cheaper and easier, but it scares me...no rear speakers, oh my gosh I'm giving up all that sound opportunity!
I'm planning my system now. I own a 27x4RMS Alpine HU and need to buy the other stuff.
Sub - I'm going to put a 12" high SQ sub in a sealed enclosure in the trunk. Plus an amp. Amp at 70-100% of speaker RMS. Thinking about JL audio as good SQ products.
I looked at that Alpine PLT-7 but it's very expensive and I'm guessing it doesn't hit real well 'cause no one is talking about it. So I guess I'll go the traditional route.
Front Speakers - 6.5" Component, highest quality I can make fit in the stock location. So for it's the Polk DB6500, but I'm looking at MB Quart and Diamond Audio also as maybe better.
Rear speakers - Should I skip these? Or put in 5.25" where the 4" are now?
Amp - Either a 2 channel for the front, or a 4 channel if I decide to put in rear speakers. Probably JL Audio again. Amp at 70-100% of speaker RMS.
