2001 GMC Yukon Sound cuts in and out, but mostly is out.

I have a 2001 GMC Yukon. The sound comes in and out and is sometimes heard in the front, rear, etc... I have replaced the head unit but that didn't help. I have tried ensuring the wiring harness / wires are secure in the back of the head unit but that doesn't seem to affect anything. Speeds don't seem to affect anything. Anyone have any ideas how I could fix this?! It's somewhere in the wiring / grounding / ???? but I can't pinpoint anything. Please help!

Have you checked your fuse for your speakers? (assuming that you dont have the speakers amped)
