My friend is looking to install the Alpine w205 double-din unit in his 2001 Sierra, but the shop told him he cant unless they move the air controls and blah blah (basically build him a dash kit). It seems to me that I've seen this done with a dash kit but can't find anything anywhere. Anyone know of this install, or where to look for a dash kit?

there is no need to move the heat/ air controls at all!!!! just a little bit up trimming the dash piece to get the unit to fit. and depending on how deep/ tall and wide the unit is some other trimming may be neccessery. but getting it to mount in all you need is the slider brakets out of a dashkit. and bolt them to the doubble din. and slid it in... its pretty easy just allot of attention to detail...

the dashkit would be.. bestkits bkgm4. but you're just buying it for the brakets. no need for the dashkit... i might have some of those brakets laying around....
