After my first time fiberglassing, well second. The first time I forgot to put the hardener in and I had to restart the whole **** proccess. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

Starting the amp rack, without the amp here yet lol. I first took the top, measured the amp to about the center gave it 3/4" top and bottom and I think 2.5" left and right. Then I used a router to make an indent and a jigsaw on the inside to cut the middle out. Don't have any pictures of the process sense I really did a bad job on the cutting, only 2 or 3 of the cuts were really straight since it was my first time using the router. Thankfully when rounding the edges with the router I fixed much of my mistakes.

If you can see in the first pics theres a 1x2 in there, my dad had suggested I use it as support but I didnt want to created a hole into my sub compartment which for the time being is completely sealed so I just tryed to use the felt as the support... figured I could just lather it with resin.

Next step was trimming the fleece and starting the fiber glassing... soo I thought I should tape up the edges of the wood in case I needed to take it out... Well first off that didnt work, second off there was no point to it... so the blue painters tape on the edges of the middle piece, those are indeed pointless.

I have 2 layers on the inside of the fleece, I dunno how many ozs or anything just lathered it on. So thats where I am right now.

Im thinking tomorrow I will begin by taking the top off, I only put a few screws in to secure it, I will put a layer of resing on the outer sides and bottom just to strengthen it up, and possibly some mat as well. Im gonna see how it stands when the amp gets here tomorrow. If it seems like how it is after that glassing is too weak I will put mat on. But I figure since its pretty much sitting on the fiber glass thats dry underneath it and its not getting pulled on too much by gravity it would almost be ok as it is now.

After that I will be carpeting the box. I think, unless theres something else Im supposed to do... I really dont know how to carpet a box, I imagine I just use staples like I did on the fleece...

Then I should also be getting my mids and tweets in, so Im going to be making a baffle for the mids which will be going in the doors. As well as something much like chuyler1 had in his car I think...

Ill make the mounting rings for the mids and tweets probablly, then Ill try and figure out where in gods name Im gonna put the tweets... cuz it has to ALL be done by friday night, as I leave for college saturday morning. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/mad.gif.c18f003ab0ef8a0d9c27ca78d77a6392.gif

Anyways any comments, tips, CONSTRUCTIVE criticism, suggestions, or ideas are appreciated. I might cry if someone flames me lolz, or I may go on a rampage and shoot one.

Oh I guess Ill list the full gear set up for all of yall.

Subs: 2 8" AA Assasins

Mids: Seas ER18RNX

Tweets: Peerless HDS

Main Amp: Memphis Belle (Going in the amp box/sub box)

Tweet Amp: Planet Audio BB150.2

Wiring: Kicker/KnuKoncept

I also want to get some of the wire cover stuff I just don't know how much Ill need and I think I can pick it up at Frys or something like that. And do I need self driving screws for shit...

Nice build so far, I hat goes off to everyone that has the skill to work with fiberglass, I have never had the talent to handle the stuff.

Nice subs, I miss my Assassin 12s sometimes wish I had not sold them //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Painters tape is your friend.

The fleece should have been stretched after the middle board was in place. Or you just didn't pull tight enough.

I wouldn't have glassed the center portion, just the actual sub enclosures.

Good job, looks great and solid. Most people won't even try it. Sounds like a nice system.

Well the fleece is pretty tight, the whole time I was applying the resin I was pushing down on it, just to make sure it was as tight as it got. Essentially I put it where there was 2" from the top of the middle board to the bottom of the top board, which is exactly the height of my amp. I just want to put more resin on it to make it stronger.

And if I could do it again I wouldn't glass the middle section either, I just wasn't positive what I was gonna do with it so I went ahead and did it anyways.

And thanks, the glassing wasn't all that hard its just time consuming. Now glassing kicks may be a whole different story...

Also does anyone know of a place I could just bring it to get it carpeted cuz honestly I almost don't wanna bother... or should I even carpet it? Is there an alternative?

Alright so after I returned from the doctor, and being violated by not only 4 needles but a man groping my testies. I came home to find nooo packages but about 20 mins after I sat down the door bell rings! And heres what came.
