2 sets of Components?

Im very close to buying 2 sets of Component speakers for my 2006 Mitsu EVO. Ive never had tried this before..... usually just some seperates in the doors with 2 or 3 ways in the back. Has anyone had any experiance with this? I think it should sound good. My setup will be a Pioneer DEH-80MP with XM and 2 sets of Polk audio DB6500. No amp, as the Pioneer is pretty hi power. Not looking at getting subs at all, hopefully these will provide decent bass. I want to keep the car light and stealthy, as well as keep in the budget. This is not to be a competition stereo, I just want a good sound that rocks out fairly well. Please provide me with some feedback. Thanks!

Tim

Waste of money and energy to throw components in the rear. If you must have some fill, then coaxs are fine.
This is purely an opinion. While to be honest it happens to be one that is shared by more people than not it is, after all, only an opinion. I have components front and rear and like it just fine. It was somewhat of a pain in the posterior to get the imaging right but after having done so I like it heaps better than I did when it was a front components/rear coaxial setup like most would suggest. Like all other things car audio-related it's all about personal preference.
Definately amp the comps though.
This I wholeheartedly agree with. You'll never get the performance out of a component set driving them with HU power as opposed to externally amping them.

Your absolutely correct. It is My opinion, just forgot to add that in there. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

definately amp them with at least 50 watts a speaker
why spend hundreds on components and then run them off a pioneer hu

Funny you should make that comment. I had Kicker Components in my 02 Tacoma (with 3 ways in the back) powered by the Alpine HU and they sounded GREAT. Pretty loud as well..... definately loud enough.

Thanks for the input.

More of my opinion:D

Again, like most all things car audio-related it all boils down to a matter of personal preference. If you had some components powered with a HU and they sounded great to you then by all means go with what makes you happy. Definately doing without outboard amplification is a cheaper route to go so that's one advantage.
Most of us feel, however, that if you've got a speaker that will easily take 50,60, up to 100 watts or more daily and you choose to drive that speaker with the

FoxPro ~ when you start paying for my audio gear and putting in the work to install it then I'll begin to care what your preferences are in the way of equipment location/implementation. I didn't say that 6speed was wrong....merely that it was an opinion rather than fact. If the way your system is set up makes ya happy then great! I chose a different route and it makes ME happy. It wasn't meant to become an "I'm right, You're wrong" debate.

i would suggest something a little better in performance. Coax are good in the rear and so are components. Only thing with components is to make sure the rears do not overpower the front stage, but you're still in stereo because its only left and right channel. I would not also power the components off an HU....because most decnt components require like 100RMS or more and 17rms from a good HU is not enough. But its up to you on that.

Well..... I can always add an AMP if necessary. The Pioneer DEH-P80MP has 27Watts RMS MOSFET. Maybe it will run my speakers ok. That is the model Im going with. I will post my results here.

Well I dont know how experienced you are at caraudio Kawrider, but if you do get those Boston Acoustics, please do us all a favor and amp them. They need a good 75-100rms to get loud and sound good. If you do just the deck then you are wasting money. You will thank us later.

Also I have 2 sets of componets and this is the first time I have ever done this. I love the sound I am getting. Much better imaging for me anyway. It is just a ***** to get it imaged right. Good luck!
