2 ?'s about A3000's

My first question is my amp is making a buzzing sound when it has power. The sound is not really loud, but I was just wondering if there was a reason for this, and if this might signal something bad. My second question is I have just ordered a second A3000 and i need to know if I should run the pair strapped, or run them seperate and just gain match. This is very much a daily driver, and I am only running an HO Alternator, and 1 battery.

The amp does have an internal fan that can be noisy from time to time. Just make sure the amp is not running hot and you should be fine. My A3000 was really noisy because the darn little internal fan. Also, as long as you don't run a really low impedance load, I say strap the amps because it is easier to set the gains once rather than twice. What is the impedance of the coils on your woofers?

the subs are dual 2. The only thing that is making me hesitant about strapping the amps is that I have heard they pull alot more current when strapped, and I dont have the money to buy a second battery right now.

Although I have no evidence to support what I'm about to say, I can't fathom that these amps pull more current when strapped vs. when they are not strapped. The current draw should essentially be the exact same whether they are strapped or not. I would definitely opt for the strapped route because it will be so much easier to set the gain for the combined pair. You will need to series wire your subs and then parallel them to the amps to present a 2 ohm load to the pair of amps.

The subs are all set since they are wired for 2 ohms for just 1 A3000, but I am just worried about current draw. I am hoping to get 1 or 2 Kinetiks in the future, but dont have the cash right now.
