The grounds are at the back battery. They were there with my last setup too and worked fine. The popping didn't happen the when I played it for a minute or two just now.Bad ground maybe... When I installed a couple 18's in a ranger I had a hard time finding a good ground because every place I tried was making the subs play crappy, or not at all sometimes. Check you ground with a DMM and make sure there is continuity, and possibly make a couple more grounds with a buss bar...
i might have missed it, but your saying the subs arent playing? do you have the amps strapped and what ohm load do you have the subs wired to? are the amps running or in protect? The grounds are at the back battery. No, they're playing, they just popped for a few seconds and I got freaked out. The amps aren't strapped, just master/slave, not in protect. The suns are wired to one ohm.i might have missed it, but your saying the subs arent playing? do you have the amps strapped and what ohm load do you have the subs wired to? are the amps running or in protect?
Is master/salve the same as strapping, just different way of wording it? I haven't done too much amp wiring so now I'm second guessing myself haha.yeah they should definetely. they should only be in master (1st one) and slave (2nd one) if they ARE strapped. or correct me if im wrong. what did you mean by that? you have one amp going to 1 sub? just make sure all the gain and all the levels are basically identical on the amps.
Haha ya I know, I'm keeping gains down.I dont think those DPs are gonna like 3k daily for very long.
If you are running 1 amp to 1 sub, and same for the other amp and sub, then both amps need to be in "master" mode.Is master/salve the same as strapping, just different way of wording it? I haven't done too much amp wiring so now I'm second guessing myself haha.
Ok, this is going to be a dumb question. but since I've never strapped amps, I feel I should probably ask. Do the subs have to be wired together th run them off of strapped amps?If you are running 1 amp to 1 sub, and same for the other amp and sub, then both amps need to be in "master" mode.
If you wired both subs together (series then parralleled) then you can "strap" the amps and use the first amp as "master" and connect the subwoofers to it only. the second amp will have both negative inputs connected to the first master amp's negative inputs with 8 awg wire. it should be in your manual
