2 channel amps capasaty

hi there now i am installing some speakers into my moped but i have a problem. now would i be able to use a 2 channel high watt amp to conect a sub and a pair of speakers bearing in mind there will be no headunit but a cable from the amp pluged into my ipod and yes i know omg halfords but the guy in there today said i would be able to do this but i am just double cheaking.

Where's the sub going that it will 1) have an enclosure 2) be able to be heard and 3) be protcted from the elements?

But to answer your question, yes it can be done. You'll not have much in the way of volume control range. And I'd go with a smallish 4 channel amp so you have a crossover for the sub.

well the sub is going to be in the seat bucket on a board inside the seat and when it is beng used the seat will be open so its heard and wat do u mean it wont be very loud ? cheers

Never said it wouldn't be loud, just said that the iPod itself won't give you much in the way of volume control. Planning to completely seal the baffle into the storage bin then?

yeah i think so why is that a problem will i need some holes to help the sound? and also does a 300watt amp that it can only work with speakers and subs with a total output of 300watt or is the rms watt what counts or is it the max watt?

No, you need to have the sub sealed in there. I was worried that you were just going to screw it to a board and set it in there with nothing to really seal the front wave from the rear. Sounds like you've got that part figured out.

As for the amp question, I'm not sure what you're asking...
