2 8s or 1 12?

I have a kenwood 1000 2 channel amp and a 99 tahoe. I cant decide wether to do one 12" assasin ported which would recieve 430w from my amp or 2 8" assains ported which would recieve 150 watts each.. I am aiming mostly for sound quality but it still needs to be loud since its a big truck... so basically which set up would be louder?

2 - 8's would be cool if you like the "wow you only have 2 - 8's" but the 1 12 should get louder.

sd = 480 cm^2 (cone area)

assassin 8

sd = 187 cm^2 * 2 = 374 cm^2

but neither one are available at the moment.

i'd wait a few weeks and check out the updated assassin's.

they're sposed to have new voice coil configs, so that may change your decision.

I just installed a pair of Assassin 8's yesterday. They are great for the money. And get decently loud in my trunk...so they should do well in a suv. I'd recommend more power though...they can handle quite a bit of power for 8" drivers.

Well I already have the amp and Im on a pretty tight budjet.. Two 10s is a lil pricy.. I'll see what the new updates are 1st I guess
