2 89 jeep cherokees

These are just sittin in the yard now as i got tired of messin with them.

1 of the jeeps my dad was driving down the road 1 day and it shut off so we tried w/e we could. its somethin electrical. never could find out so we bought another cherokee with a bad engine and i switched the engine. Now 1 jeep is just for parts has a nice body and all , no engine. The other that i put the engine in is getting no spark. im sure it is soemthin small because sometimes when u spray starter fluid in the carb it will try to fire up (as you turn the distributor) . It has rust holes in the bottom fenders and i took the fender flares off to fit bigger tires.Im just really tired of messin with them and i give up.

Did you check the timing? Just suggesting because you could probably get more out of 1 running jeep and a parts one rather than 2 non running.

Ive redone the timing like the book says a bunch of times... thats what it sounds like would be the problem but its not, even put a different distributor in it and tried again same thing

fuel lines ok? filter? fuel pump? Are you sure it's getting gas?

injectors could need replacing if it's an old engine or spark plugs might not be firing.

I would have guess timing or distributor first also but have you checked ^^ ?

its getting gas to the injectors so i guess it would be gettin to the engine.. still though it would have spark without gas wouldnt it?

tested for spark from the plug wire and there is none
