How would these do as midbass in an active setup? You think they play higher freq.s good too? Or should I look into getting these, some TB 4"s and some TB tweets as well?

I doubt they will be good over 150 Hz but they might. Some people like the subwoofers up front so you could make a pair of pods and throw them in there for bass. But it appears they are sold.
