No they don't; maybe you confused it with the 4hp motor? The TC brand AudioPulse's 12" Axis(3hp motored), weighs 44 lbs...my 4hp motored 15" Ti PRO weighed 65 lbs, so I highly doubt the 3hp motors by themselves weigh over 40lbs...
Anywho, these are great motors...

Well, I weighed my entire sub, I didnt remove the top assembly. And yea, mine is a 3K motor not a 3HP.
