i'd buy from crutchfield over any place including local shops. doesn't get much better then dealing with crutchfield

Crutchfield FTW (unless you can find another site that carries manufacturers warranties(sp?).

And, just to ask, isn't turning the gains up inviting a chance for more floor noise? I was told to try to get 4 volt or better to reduce possibility of floor noise through high gains.

that's the theory behind getting higher preouts, but you should have zero noise at 2 volts and higher voltage is just bandaging a problem

Crutchfield has great service, and i never buy from eBay. just a personal preferance

ok sweet I just didnt know anything about it. Does anyone else have any experiences with the scratch and dent?

I just got the DEH-P6800MP I ordered from Crutchfield's scratch-and-dent on Weds and it doesn't appear to have anything wrong with it. The only thing that seemed unusual was the inside packaging, it was some kind of plastic material rather than the usual styrofoam.

Far as eBay is concerned, I've bought a handful of car audio parts (amps, subs, wiring, but never a HU) and never had a problem there either. I love dealing with Crutchfield - fast and reliable - but if you're on a tight budget, you'll often save a good bit of money using eBay.

the 6800 is pretty cheep on crutchfield right now. i love how they give you the harness and dash kit for free

Just ordered the 7800 from Crutchfield Scrach and dent. It cost $281 shipped, that was cheaper the ebay. This is my 1st ever order from Crutchfield but I feel that it will not be my last!

Someone help me now please. I just got the cd player installed and I am picking up on feedback noise from me engine. It is a wistling sound that is very loud. I already have a noise supresser on it and a ground wire thing. My friend has this same cd player and his does not make this noise in my truck? Does anyone know what this is or how I could fix it?
