I'm slowly piecing together components for my blazer. What I will be running is 2 orions 2500d's @ 1Ω about 1200-2000 watts each and an 8004 on a set of comps. I don't have an alt yet but I plan on either dual 200-220ish's or a single 300. Both amps will have dual runs of 1/0 to them. This is strictly going to be a daily driver, so not competing. So the batteries will also be used for starting. I'm pretty sure I will be able to run 2 batts under the hood. The battery trays currently can only fit batteries 10.75"x7"s. Once I get the motor in and front end back together I will see if I can mod the trays to hold anything wider maybe 11" or 12"s. I'd like to just run 2 batts if I can, but if not that's what I need to know so I can plan things out. Here's what I was thinking:
1. 2 Optima Blue Tops 34M's or D34M's. (Probably not sufficient enough)
2. 2 Kinetik 1800's (Kinetik site suggest at least 2 2000's and a 1400 for starting)
Blue Tops last time I checked were about $200-230 each Canadian plus taxes, and the Kinetiks are about $260 shipped US plus whatever duties. I'll have to wait to see if I could fit maybe 2 2000's up front. I'm looking for the most cost effective way that it can be done. If it requires 2400's, then it might be cheaper to get like 4 BT's locally. But I'm looking for experieces and opinions on what will work for me. Thanks
