2 15 hds vs 2 18 obsidian

Was wondering which one would be better. I have up to 24 cubic feet to work with. Some one told me the 15s in a 4th order and another said the 18s in a ported. I'll be running them off a 2500.1d hifonics. Have an AGM battery and stock alt.

this one would come down to enclosures build quality because the hds can take a crap load more power and the oas have the area advantage. but for that power i would go oas. if u wanted to strap two 2500's down the road go hds.

Well I was thinking about doing the HDS' because they ar about 140$ cheaper. And was going to do a 3:1 ratio at 47hz bandpass box.

How does that sound?

The Obsidian's are rated at 600rms, but will take about 1200 or so clean. Those would be fine on that amp. Once you factor in voltage drop and rise i would say you will see about 1500 watts from the amp, if that. The obsidians will be fine on that amp, the HDS's from what ive heard will probly want more power. Im running 2 OA 18s on 3k myself

The oa 18's are good for 4th orders as well but that would be a huge box 20+ cu and that's a lot of wood so if your already over budget with the purchase of the subs the box will really put a hurting on your wallet

Yeah. I heard two others say that. But based on my budget, Im going to have t go with the hds'. Im getting a little help with it, about 100$. So all in all, I can use that 100 i have extra for materials.
