2 12" SE vs 1 12" magnum

hey, im sorry about another comparison thread.

the 2 12" SE's will cost about 120 dollars more than the single 12" magnum.

i dont care about the SQ much, because they are both great SQ subs.

so in terms of output...

ive got as much power as i need and 3.5 cubes to use in total, will probably be approx 2.5 net after port and displacement, going to tune around 32Hz/

i am pretty sure that the 2 12s will have more output (not really sure though)

if they wont, tell me and delete this thread

and if they will, approx how much louder, and is it worth $120?

The SE's can hold their own in SPL, too. I havent personally heard a magnum, but do hear good things about them. Still, I would figure the SE's would be louder, probably enough to justify the extra money.

Of course, you could always get one magnum now, and if its not loud enough, have a $120 start on saving for the next one.

I have not heard the magnums but i have the SE's and they are good to me

If you want to compare 1 SE to 1 Mag I will tell you go with the mag all the way. But you have to consider that you are talking about 24" of cone volume v. 12". So naturally the 2 SE's should be louder than 1 Mag. However if you put them up against a 15" Mag it may be a different story.

i was looking to get a 15" mag, but dont wanna use up my entire trunk space.

so now im looking into a 12, or possibly an avalanche 15 cuz they dont really need a lot of space.

It doesnt EVEN work that way... 2 12s do not equal a 24" cone...

no one has even mentioned that the SEs would only get 1.25 cubes a piece, which is not exactly the greatest enclosure for them.
