2 12"s compared to 1 15"

I was just browing through the T/S specs of the Mach 5 SPL ... the 12 has Sd = 433.7 cm2 , and the 15" Sd = 754.8 cm2 ... that means 2 12"s having 867.4cm2 would only have an advantage of 112.6 cm2 over a single 15"... is this a substantial advantage?

It almost seems you might as well go with the 15" for cost factors, or is 112cm^2 actually a big difference? (I'm a noob to T/S parameters)

I also had a hard time deciding between 2 12's or 1 15". I choose 1 15" sub for space reasons and cost. After seeing this thread i am now wondering what to do again for my set up.. LOL
