2 12" re xxx vs 2 12" re mx

Hmm... The "spl" at the end of it makes me think it's more like the BTL. Does anyone know how it sounds? I'm preferring SQ accuracy at low volumes with the ability to get loud, but most of the time it'll be played at low volumes. So I'm really not wanting a pure SPL driver.
Stuck on what to get. I have 2400 watts rms @1 ohm to work with. Was hoping to get one big driver that can handle 2k watts, but I guess getting 2 that handle 1k would probably be best as far as SQ and loudness....

I've just always wanted to try an XXX, I've heard so many good things about them...
I went with a 15" MX myself //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif The Mach5spl supposedly has really good sq along with it from a few reviews I've read. But it's your looking for accurate bass at lower volumes you might want to stick with an MX.

well i have heard good things about both of these subx xxx's and mx's but i want the better choice and better product
The XXX's are supposed to be an MX that handles a lot more power.

so does the mx have more excursion the xxx since it has a 4" coil and the xxx only has a 3"
That is coil width. Im pretty sure the MX coil is way shorter not to mention the XXX uses 2 coils(split coil design)

XXX will have way more excursion potential(within Xmax)

The both use the same basket and suspension so non linear excursion should be smilar on both of em.

Both new and old XXX would get rid of the MX.. But the MX is still a decent sub...The newer XXX has tons of design flaws, and for the price I personally wouldnt get one...

Also a RD Audio Alpha will get loud on 2k and sound great doing it...One of the best overall drivers I have used..

well RE subs wether SR, SE, SX, MX, MT and XXX are a good choices.. they are all built for brutality but ofcourse XXX is a different story since its the top of the line of RE...

since the xxx is better than why does the mx have a longer coil
The mx's coil is 4" around, the xxx is 3" around. But the xxx has a longer coil. The xmax on the mx is 44mm total, where the xxx is 108mm total. The xxx and mx use the same basket but not the same motors. The xxx uses your classic magnet setup, where the mx has neo. That's where you will run in to problem's. The xxx is around 80lbs each with no enclosure. Your car is not going to take that much extra weight! The last dual xxx setup I did was in a 2007 chevy trailblazer and it bottomed out the shocks in it! By the time you do

amps, subs, enclosure, wire, batterys it get really f$cking heavy!!!!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif Remember you have a car not a truck;)So in the end i would say do the mx's half the weight, Your car will thank you in the end:)
