I went with a 15" MX myself //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif The Mach5spl supposedly has really good sq along with it from a few reviews I've read. But it's your looking for accurate bass at lower volumes you might want to stick with an MX.Hmm... The "spl" at the end of it makes me think it's more like the BTL. Does anyone know how it sounds? I'm preferring SQ accuracy at low volumes with the ability to get loud, but most of the time it'll be played at low volumes. So I'm really not wanting a pure SPL driver.
Stuck on what to get. I have 2400 watts rms @1 ohm to work with. Was hoping to get one big driver that can handle 2k watts, but I guess getting 2 that handle 1k would probably be best as far as SQ and loudness....
I've just always wanted to try an XXX, I've heard so many good things about them...
The XXX's are supposed to be an MX that handles a lot more power.well i have heard good things about both of these subx xxx's and mx's but i want the better choice and better product
thats diameter not lenth and no it doesntso does the mx have more excursion the xxx since it has a 4" coil and the xxx only has a 3"
That is coil width. Im pretty sure the MX coil is way shorter not to mention the XXX uses 2 coils(split coil design)so does the mx have more excursion the xxx since it has a 4" coil and the xxx only has a 3"
The mx's coil is 4" around, the xxx is 3" around. But the xxx has a longer coil. The xmax on the mx is 44mm total, where the xxx is 108mm total. The xxx and mx use the same basket but not the same motors. The xxx uses your classic magnet setup, where the mx has neo. That's where you will run in to problem's. The xxx is around 80lbs each with no enclosure. Your car is not going to take that much extra weight! The last dual xxx setup I did was in a 2007 chevy trailblazer and it bottomed out the shocks in it! By the time you dosince the xxx is better than why does the mx have a longer coil
