2 12" or 1 15"

i know a 15" would go lower but 2 12"s would have more cone area. is 1 15" worth it over 2 12"s? opinions and experience?

Hard question to answer, generally, no 1 15" is not worth it over 2 12s" IMO

it's gonna be my first set up and the only system that i've heard is 2 10" type E subs in a ported box. i don't really know what to expect so i'm hoping to get insight on what to do

I prefer a single 15, it's not as common as 2 12's, generally cheaper than 2 12's, and can still get pretty loud, especially in the right setup. For the price you usually can get 2 mediocre 12's or 1 beefy 15. Choice is obvious for me, personally.

i prefer 1 15" but thats all i have room for in my trunk. i have had 2 10s, a 12, another 12, and a 15. and i went back to another 15 this time.

YES 2 12s have more cone area. but size doesnt exactly determine how Low it will go.. that goes into box tuning, and vehicle response, etc, so get that out of your head.

and getting louder will not come with 2 12s over 1 15"... to many variables.

one 8 can hit low 20's-300 hertz, one 12 can hit low 20's-300 hertz, one 15 can hit low 20's-300 hertz, one 18 can hit low 20's-300 hertz, 2 8's can hit low 20's-300 hertz, 2 12's can hit low 20's-300 hertz ect.

i got an 05 hyundai elantra. i don't think i can fit much in there. 1 15" and maybe 2 12". i have a pos 10" sub atm but i want something bigger

My sister has an elantra, she can fit a ton of stuff in there, I think it would be possible to get 2 15's in there pretty easily, and 2 12's wouldn't take too much work.

I just hooked up my sundown SA-8s today. only 2 ATM tuned to 30hz. and I can hit that low note in Put On which is about 27hz. Size doesnt determine how low you'll go.

8's are bomb. I haven't heard any in person but the flex in vids are amazing

Yea the vids convinced me too.

I put em in today and man! theyre at 4 ohms only gettin 800rms right now and they get nasty low and pretty loud for 2 8's
