im looking to buy some subs for my jeep soft top if it makes a difference. i have a ppi pc2150 on the way which is rated at 600 rms @ 4 ohms mono.

im looking at fi and re for my sub setup depending on price which would be the smartest setup and why? also i listen to alot of rap. i want high spl but also good sq space is not an issue, but what would be my best route to go? thanks

Your never going to have both. LOL its one or the other , or a sacrifice of high output in both area to have a good average of both.

Ported box for the efficiancy and the fact you play rap your problably dont care to hear the notes as a guitar picks crosses bass strings so a sealed box might not be what you want. But now space is a factor ! and you want good spl for rap tones. So I would say in my opinion since you have a jeep with soft top dont buy anything that cost alot since jeeps are easy to rip off LOL.

Go 1 15" sub sealed to give you more cone area than the two 10's and still not take up the space a ported would require. This will problably meet best between good spl (cone area of the 15 is greater than 2 tens) and keeps the box size low. Ide say you would be around 126DB with a decent subwoofer.

Its up to you though, but if I had a jeep I would keep theifs in mind so cost of sub = low. You can get a very nice 15" subwoofer that will take the 600Wrms.

Since your not going 1000Watts and higher your not out to compete so dont blow money on a high end single subwoofer setup to gain an extra half a db or so.

Thats my opinion anyways

thanks for the input but i said space is NO issue since it is an 07 4 door wrangler so i have a ton of room to work with in the trunk and i always hated sealed boxes.

You might also want to look into another amp as 600watts isn't that much power. 15" Q would do nicely with 1000+.
See what TC has to offer or maybe an RL-P...
600 watts of old school ppi is more than enough these amps today are poo poo compared to the pc2150
