$2,000 opinion

one of my buddies wants me to build him a system. He will spend up to 2k. This is for a complete system (i.e. HU, Front/rear speakers, sub, wiring and amp). He has a cherokee and wants either 2 15's, 1 18, or maybe 3 or 4 12's. He mainly wants SPL while keepin some SQ. Also, he wants to beat his friends system in spl. So what would u buy within these specs?

Comps...Dont know much about, but i figured you could go with a higher end CDT.. 220? maybe

Component amp.....something low powered...depending on what comps you choose. i'd say between 75-150RMS.....you can find one less than 200 bucks....

So far you would have spent around $1974.00 bucks....give or take a lil....but thats plenty enough left over for wiring.....Check out knukonceptz.com for a 0 guage wiring kit...Or weldingsupply.com

karleon.... only problem with that system i see is "Where's the Deadener?" with 2 15" Death penalties, you are going to need a lot of asphalt and aluminum, also a hell of an electrical system too.

dang, i forgot i do gotta h-o alternator and forgot to add the expense into his setup....oh well, i was on the roll for a second. I didnt mention deadner because that wasnt in his budget..... hmmmm, ha ha, i dunno then. dont really know the prices on other stuff

you can do my setup in the sig for under 2k. very loud and sounds **** good. and runs decently with my stock electrical system. gonna get a HO alt. with the HO alt i beleive it would be about 2k or 2k1

xxx 18 and a big amp. Talk to NGSM13 he's got some stuff for sale you might wanna look into. DLS UR6 are NICE comps and can be had around 300 bucks. feed them 100-150 watts per side but be careful w/ the gains. look at some alpine HU's 9835 is sweeeeet all their models are nice though. welding supplies and ebay has cheapo wire. You'll want to do a good battery and big 3.....probably a better alt and a good battery in the back too.

LOL funky pups are shitty subs that everyone like i guess cuz you can get a 6-pack of them for like a hundred bucks.......very fun for wall socket adventures.

thx for your opinion guys. also, he did plan on getting another batteryand deadner that wasnt counted towards the 2k budget...so i think karleon is on to something.

Dont forge the DP are on back order though, so it may be a while before he gets his hand on a pair. I dont know if he already has the 2g's ready to go or his he still in the process of saving or what not...But that does give him a chance to get his components and front stage done. I dont think u would have too much longer to wait though, since they have been on backorder for the longest. But you never know. All i can say is, its worth the wait.
