Would it be a problem to use 2/0 for the big 3? I have a bit I can get for free so if I could use it then that be cool. I can't think of any problems with using it.

No issues, I use 4g on installs all the time with great results.

my big 3 is done in 4 ga welding wire, been going good for almost 2 years now.

mine is done in 2/0 gauge bigger the wire the better!

Some people suggest fusing the wire between + on the alt and battery, I should still use the same fuse rating right? No need to go higher? And also, what fuse size do most of you use anyways?

Thats what I figured since that is what I'll be running on my power wire to my amp.

fusing 2/0 between the alt and the battery seems pointless in my opinion... how many amps is your alt anyway?

well 2/0 is good up to 300a in 90 degree F according to my national electrical code book.. and it shouldn't vary much in higher engine bay temps...
