are the bl's brand new or did you buy them used?

i have no experience with any fi products, however i have read a couple of times on these forums from different people that the bl's need a break in period and will get noticibly louder after being played for a while. just a suggestion

i bought them new, i've got about 5-6 hours playing time on them, i think they're just about fully broken in. still alot stiffer than my q's ever were but they got quite a bit louder after an hour or two of play.

heres some of the hell being wraught on my hatch. it definitely needs some help. does anyone know of anything i can do to keep that window from jumping around like that, its coming away from the seals and you can feel it leaking air, all the hinges and everything are tight.

i dont think 5-6 hours is enough. ive heard a couple guys say it took a couple weeks for them to loosen up and get nice and loud. again please remember i have no experience with these subs its just what i remember reading on this forum.

and as far as the rear window...i drive a 98 sport and when i had my 2 15" sx's i had to use whether stripping at all the contact points around the window. too bad it already chipped the **** outta my paint before i got to it. oh and btw...watch for the hinges that hold that back window up...my sx's pushed the window so bad that the hinges loosed up and finally the bolt stripped out where it screws into. some jb weldge fixed that but it still pissed me off cause my **** window scratched the SHIT outta my paint back there. later

edit: i should mention that you need to watch out for that sun roof. my friend has a 96 4 door with a sunroof 1 15" 2004 XXX with a pa3000 amp and it broke his sunroof hinges so now it barley opens or closes //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

1) what speakers you got? do they keep up?

2) Hows the 240 amp alternator doing? good power and has the dimming decreased at idle/cruise? thanks bro

i used to run a single pair of cdt ef61's and they barley kept up with 2 15" sx off a viper 2500d. still nice for only 1 set of speakers in the front doors.

they're alumapro alc 6.2's, running off a 150x2 @ 4 ohm crossfire vr602. . they keep up real nicely. same with the alternator, even when i ran it at .7 ohm there was just the slightest bit of dimming, none at 2 ohms.

they're speer gold dots. i have a heckler and koch p2000 9mm da/sa that i carry concealed.

i think you woulda been a bit happier firing them upwards instead of backwards. I mean, my 15" Type-Rs put the hurt on my rear hatch. cant even imagine what that hatch sounds like with the subs back

from what i understand, firing rearward is the way to go with explorer's unless you need such a large box that the port would be too close to the rear. i basically just told iamamp3pimp to design me a loud box, then i built it.
