Yep - everything appears to be fine - cone movement is smooth without any rubbing or grinding, no resistance. Tinsel leads are still solidly attached. Only thing that looks off that i can see is the rust on my screw contacts (welcome to florida!, hehe **** humidity..) I called a little bit ago and left Don a message; letcha know what happens. I was kinda hoping it was the song too, at least then i'd know why the f*** it happened :/ I have a feeling the 150w rating is more solid than was previously said -- the germaniums haven't been around all that long (less than a year that people have had them in the US) so i wouldn't be horribly shocked if it came to light that the woofers really are maxed at 150w and people just don't listen to music as loud as i like to for the periods i like to. It's not uncommon for me to drive around for an hour and a half listening to techno @ ~56-58/80 in my car -- maybe other people with this set and the kind of power i have on them simply don't listen to them that much. I don't want to find out that's true, through...since if it is, i'm ****ed and i also need to upgrade to the power line cs. ****ing ****. Even if that was the case, I really don't understand why they would have died last night of all times, after only 4 minutes of play time and when it's ****ing 35f outside! How the **** could it have overheated when it's 35f in under 4 minutes when i've played it at higher volumes, for longer, in 90 degree heat, after my car was sitting outside all day in the sun and the temps inside were well over 100f. Doesn't make any sense.
