Here goes nothin'... I just recently (last week) replaced the tinsel leads all the way to the coil on both Destroyers and yesterday I installed one and got to hear it for about 10 mins before the brittle, bendable, easily breakable coil lost connection where I soldered the tinsel lead to it right above the former. I installed the other one today and the same thing happened. They aren't "blown" persay, just not working. They have no coil rub or mechanical failure other than where the tinsel leads meet the coil. They are only holding me up on other projects and I dont have the time to make the custom monsters I wanted them to be...
This being said, I am selling them either as they are, or $250 + Shipping for each motor. I paid WELL over this amount. Well over $1400 was put in actually. I paid $385 just for one of the motors which was then sent to David @ RE to be fixed and was turned back into a 15" by accident. Luckily a fellow member had a blown 15" Destroyer he was just going to recone so we traded and I proceeded to have it reconed to an 18" I paid $540 and drove to Ohio for the other 18" Destroyer which I tore apart and sent to RE to get reconed fresh with the other. I paid $100 for shipping there, $100 back, and $200 for recones (Dave hooked me up
) So to say the least I am only looking to get 1/3 of what I spent back on the Beasts I've only had back for less than 5-6 months.
I also have a pair of blown 18" RE HCs sitting here posing no use to me as of now. I was hoping to buy 2 more and make some Badazz custom woofs but that is proving to be a feat. These are REs first Badboy sub. They held no remorse from getting loud as f*ck and sound amazing doing it. I would really like to keep these and buy 2 more HC motors two make the 4 18"s custom like I planned, but thats a no-go until I get some positive leads on another pair of motors. So for now I'm looking for $150 Shipped on each, unless/until I find a use for em...
Lastly, I have a Viper 400.2 that I've been using for about a year. It's a lil scratched up, not bad though, bout a 7.5-8/10. The plug set is missing a internal ground and remote terminal, but I made a metal tube for the terminals that worked fine. It functions great to this day. I had this as a matching set for my Viper d2500.1 and then 2 d1200.1s but they are all sold and long gone. I am selling in hopes of finding a Treo 4/2 channel to match my current amps. $140 Shipped. I'll get some current pics of this up asap.
