looks sweet. more pics of said car. everything besides engine stock? iirc you can get those things goin fairly fast
Yeah pretty much, its a michigan daily driver so I cant really drive anything flashy around here. Its way faster than my 4.6 t-bird. Its got brand new tires on it and will chirp em into second with the stock automatic ***** that has 140,000 miles on it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I would say before you recone that beautiful BTL powder coat the baskt:D. Just a suggestion.
I kno, I was gonna paint it black, but since I wont see it anyway, and I dont feel like taking the basket off, I decided to puss out.

It shall be interesting though, I am lookin forward to seeing how this will perform. I havent seen a build like this before. And since a wall was out of the question for my daily driver, and I wanted an 18 again, this seemed like the best bet //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Yeah mikey that is gonna be one nice setup man. You gonna go to the bass race this summer in taylor michigan ? it's at gibraltar that's my goal to compete this year will be my first time.

For sure!!! I went last year but didnt have a car to compete with, both me and my buddy were in the middle of changin setups //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Should definately be ready this year! When is it I dont wanna forget lol?!!

uuuhhhh, off to class and work, wont be home till 6 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif boooooo

isnt this a lil much for just one sub... or will this setup, acheive more output by just using the trunk and sealing it off.
Well really its the only way to fit it in the car period. There is no way in hell of fitting a 7-8 cube box in the trunk. The biggest I have fit was 6.5 net but it wasnt tall enough for a btl and would cancel out really bad. This should be pamp though. And if I ever change vehicles or want my backseat again Ill just recone it to a 15 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

yea if it cant fit, u really have no other way. it would be more pratical to build in the trunk just incase u ever wanted to sell it. But if ur not gonna sell it, tare that ***** up and make it wang!
I would build in the trunk, but the btl is just too massive to point in any direction towards the inside of the car lol. But dont worry I wont be damaging or tearing up any part of the car for this project //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif The backseat will be pulled and I will be doing a build-in but everything will be able to be removed and have the factory deck and seat put back in place.

Ya'll will see once I get rollin on this, I just need a weekend now when I wont be busy //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Oh and I still need to run up to the store and buy some resin, glass, and mdf, but Im kinda thinkin about birch. Depends if I have the bank when it comes time to buy //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/greedy.gif.5a53e6246569d7ab79867170f3b06629.gif

There was a guy on termpro that did basically this with subs forward and port up. I believe he did it with two 15's. Pretty decent number if I remember correctly.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to be doing this with either a pair of 15s or 18s this summer as well. I'm sick of not having my trunk, and I don't drive people around in the back seat anyways.

And if you do it right, you should easily be able to make the car back into stock condition.

Good luck to you. It should get loud.

^^^ I hope so!!! I still havent decided on my port placement, but with the front baffle, I am going to double baffle it of coarse, but the second baffle is going to be held on with t-nuts, or whatever their called. The spike nuts that grab the wood from the backside and are held in with bolts. This way I can pull the baffle, and have a fairly large opening to access the inside of the box, incase I want to add anything inside to make it smaller.

Im going to build it to my max dimensions and then layer it accordingly to get down to the size I am looking for. The port will either be on top or bottom and be held on the same way as the second baffle, allowing me to also interchange ports to adjust the tuning.

I didnt want to go through this whole process and not be able to mess around with tuning and enclosure size so I think this will work out well for me.

Especially if I get anxious and want to get loud on the meter //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

But for now its a DD and I love dem loooowwwssss //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Hopefully next weekend Ill have some time to make up some drawings in CAD or Inventor to show you all whats gonna be happening. I just have to strip the rear out so I can start getting some accurate measurments //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

looking good & thats some d a m n fine equipment you got there //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif. can't wait to see it done

I tried to find pics of that other guys build for you.....But no luck.

He started off building a dance floor, then built the rest of the box up from that. If I remember right, he was in the mid 150's.

Make sure to put up as many pics of the build as you can. Should be fun.

Yep, thats what I was going to do. I might have some factory locations to work with as far as bolting the floor down goes. And from there I will build up the sides and back, then cover it all with the baffles.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif
