18" APXX Vs 15" XXX V3

Hi guys

heres my short story.

Will get a PANDA tomorrow and starting with the wall install into it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

As my budget is low, i have to go for the second hand subs.

Will try to run the subs on 0.5 ohm by 2 x DD Z1 amps, so nearly 5K rms at least

So here im stucked now, first im trying to get them LOUD as possible, so what you think here:

Have a chance to get 2 x 18" APXX (2x1ohm) subs or 4 x Re XXX V3 (2x2ohm) subs.

Cant find any nice DD gear for reasonable price, so lets keep on those 2 subs at the moment //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

Atomics require a lot of power to make them move, same time are Re's good enough to get high score ?

Talking here about 155 + db

I own an Atomic 18"APXX, while they do take a ton of power to get going. They will get you the #'s your looking for

are you kidding? APXX.... only problem with them is that its hard getting the right coils form SJA if you have to get recones. They've sent me 3 different types of coils in the last month //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

But the Atomics will take a shitload more beating and power than those XXX's

If we stay with those figures, you think 2 x 18" APXX's will go louder than 4 x15" XXX's ?

Which vids on your myspace are the Atomic's, snoopdan? Is it the all black ones

your APXX will do just fine with 10K worth of power.

Also you have to take into account that with the Panda you're pretty much have the

optimal space to run a pair of 18s well. If you go the route of 4 18s instead then you

definately will not have enough airspace and port to run them effectively..

All of the black subs in the wall are APXX dirivitives....yes, they're RD SHW's (kinda, and kinda not at various times) but the motor strucuture is identical.

And normally, I only run one 5kw amp on both of them and do 152.x at the headrest playing music. Ive never actually strapped my other 5kw to them to find out what it would do //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

no problem, what I said in my post was that I dont believe

you will have sufficient air space and port to get the most out of the 4 15" set up.

you are much better off with the 2 18" set up.

the 2 18s is ideal for the vehicle.

Going with 4 15s would be a problem for you.

Believe me the pair of 18s with proper power will

give you unbelievable results..

I assume you're looking at competing in SS or SM ?

or is this just going to be for fun?
