$18,000 Phone Bill? God Dam!

Not saying the family shouldn't be responsible for the bill, I dont know all the details, but I do know Verizon's wireless bill is intentionally confusing. More than once Ive called to have a charge explained from my bill, and had the tech not have any idea what the added charge was, or how it differed from some other charge Im already paying. When the people they pay to explain people's bills to them cant figure out your bill, you know their system is fuct.

edit: BTW turns out, they dont have to be able to explain to you what the added charge is for or means, and they will still make you pay it. Verizon sucks balls. The ONLY reason I use them is their range of coverage.

Apparently they had a plan that didn't include a data plan, but they thought it did. And their son racked up the data so that's why it was so expensive.

I've got Verizon also, but I'm on my parent's plan because I'm still in college. So I don't know what the bill looks like. It's really intentionally confusing?

I think all Cell phone providers are like that. They pretty much charge people for stuff and hope that they overlook it or think that they know what it is. Cell phone providers and credit card companies can be a real hassle sometimes.

They nickel and dime you everywhere. Id get a random $5 added to my bill one month with a description that was clearly an acronym, but when Id call to ask they couldn't tell me what it stood for or why it was there, to name one example.

I agree cc and cell phone companies work with much the same attitude. The problem Ive found is, they dont hope you over look it, even if you see it and fight it, they (Verizon anyway) almost never back down.

i would kick that boys *** and make him pay that bill. That boy was old enough to know to ask about the policy on the phone. WTF is worth 18,000 on a down to a phone? probly a bunch of stupid shit that he dont have no more. Wasted $ IMO.

that's why my cheap *** has "Megatalk" unlimited talk/text and long distance (or web) for $60/mo. I switched to this after getting my first $6XX bill from Sprint a few years back. Now I only do prepaid.

Got my phone stolen and the dude charged $500 is 6 hours and i was forced to pay because they needed proof someone stole it or some shit..

I've had verizon for well over 4 years using a windows mobile phone with NO data plan. Fuckers decided that it was time to charge me for the data plan... Got an extra $30 in the bill and called them, they took it right off...
