166 db calibrated cheapie termlab for DMM's

I offered up my EPIC-150 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
For this round of testing though we should agree on a standard set of tests that we will all run...to get a baseline...beyond this is just gravy //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
oh cool if you dont have your epic mounted or anything, we can surely put it up against the rest of them in a test. Its not like anyone has anything to gain from any one of them being right, that makes the test even more valid.

I wish we could get the AC for the test, but they're not real popular because of the price, not necessarily how accurate they are or arent....so sorta makes it hard to come by to test...

(talking about your setup)yo no offense....

i kno im not the best w/ this audio stuff but i can tell thats not accurate anyday.

154 in a trunk car is hard as hell.

i think kenny barely gettin that with 2 18s and 4 1500 watt amps....

hell i seen 2 Mt's 15's in a TRUCK hit 150 on bassrace.....not 154.

id like to see a pic of that score.

(your score not your cuzin)
Kenny's car no longer counts as it is walled. Once walled you take the the speakers out o the trunk and make the cabbin smaller...the two things that really hinder SPL in trunked cars.

Kenny has the equiptment and power to push mid-high 150's but it will take a lot more testing/rebuilding and I dont think he is into doing that on his own.

I know a local guy with one, but I am not that great of friends with him. Also, I am not quite sure what version of the AC it is. I will see what I can come up with.

quite the claims.

if it anywhere near this consistent, at the very least you guys could come up with some sort of conversion chart to get TL numbers.

EDIT: i'd also be interested in seeing what's inside //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

for $70 shipped on ebay and all the calibration they claim to do, the parts can't be more than $20-30

I wish someone around here had a term-lab other than audio express, so I could get a more accurate score. Like I said though when I had the subs in a sealed box I got metered with 2 different meters. One said 147 and one was 148. The one that said 147 was the one that I used to meter it when I ported them which showed the 154. However neither one was termlab.

Audio express doesnt have a term-lab. Audioexpress use audiocontrol mics only, and usually meter sealed at the dash in their little competitions.

Best way ive found to get loud in my trunk car is if your seats fold down seal your box into the opening of the cabin with subs and ports firing in and seal the rear deck. Gets plenty loud that way. Maybe not 150's but high 140's
Thats the best way to do it in a trunk car, but it is still hard to get above 145, unless it is a dedicated SPL setup. Though I have heard claims of a trunk car doing mid 50s with two MTX amps tuned for daily(wish I could do that ish)!

I'm pretty sure the audio express in jonesboro has term-lab. I could be wrong though.

I really hope this is accurate. I dont wanna drop 600 on a termlab + a laptop //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
Who says you have to buy a lap top? I'm taking an old roll around bottom of a tool box and building a Pentium 3 computer for next to nothing. You can pick up a pentium 3 computer on the cheap now a days. That is 1gHz processing and 512mb of ram. MORE than enough to run the term lab.

yea taht was proving it more....2 18's in a wall barely hitting that high shows that 2 15s in a trunk is more then likely not hitting a 154, bcuz it is obviously easier to hit higher with a wall then in a trunk.
