I've got 5 of these on me right now, 4 have a 12-spoke basket, the other one a 4-spoke very similar to the DD3500 series. All are BRAND NEW.

I got these from a guy that bought them from an Orion supplier several years back. He never got around to using them, and just decided to sell his whole stockpile of these things...

These are just like the old XTR PRO subs from back in the day. Looks like the same top assembly and magnet, just a different basket. And, they're logoless //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yumyum.gif.0556df42231b304b9c995aefd13928a8.gif . The best thing is that you don't need a whole hell of a lot of power to get these moving. With 500 watt RMS handling, and a sensitivity of 92db, it doesn't take much to get these loud.

$150 shipped each to anywhere in the continental US. PM me if you're interested.

There's two more just like the 12-spoked ones in the picture.

Dual 4 ohm voice coil

Cast Aluminum 12 Spoke Vented Basket

2.5" voice coil

Braided 14 gauge tinsel leads

Paper Dust cap (no name)

100% QC Tested

500 Watts Continuous

1000 Watts peak

FS: 24Hz

Sensitivity: 92dB

Check this out, I just looked these subs up, and the real deal from Orion, there only 199.00 new, you said these were proto's, that means no warrant, no NOTTA. Its a chance im willing to take, but you have to do better on the price, or it better to buy them new!! Here is the link to see for yourself!!http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=2527

But that price of 199.99 is without shipping...count on 25-30 more on top of that. And these are brand new, woofersetc might send you a refurb, seen it happen before.

Would one of these sound good in a 5 cubes ported box, or do they need a smaller one?
The recommended ported box it 3.5 ft^3 tuned to 32hz. If you already have a 5 ft^3 box, then you can cut up some 2x4's to take up space inside the enclosure (this is how I got my 4.5 down to 3.5, took 3 2x4's). However, this will make the tuning frequency quite a bit higher, probably 5-6hz higher than it already is. My advice: spend an extra $40 and bulid a new box //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
