15" Wild Beast Install - External Ports n Neon Paint

I do this every spring, tear down my big winter spl box in favour of something more musical, different, and space conservative. I do alot of camping so a box to the side with enough room beside it for a cooler was my main goal. The rest was just for fun.

The build

15" Cadence Wild Beast (pretty amazing budget sub Ive had layin around for a while)

Soundstream PCA2000D amp (run @ 4ohm = 1100ish rms)

Box is 2.75 cubes after displacements, 2 4" PVC ports @ 23" = 32hz

Ive had this sub laying around for a while, so I spent $7 on a 1/2 sheet of MDF and made a box for it. My first time ever carpeting a box either so that was an experience, was also my first time using round ports (probably wont ever again lol)

what came out

Im kinda up in the air on whether or not I should invert it, it sounds exactly the same either way right? Just looks pretty bad *** flipped. Dont know if there is a sound difference with the way my ports are setup.

And yes I know the neon orange painted ports are tacky, there as tacky as the orange sub lol, I didnt really care I was just bored today, and if it doesnt sound good itll be out tomorrow, or if it does, itll still be out after summer.

spec called for 2-3.5. I just made a box in that area and it just happened to come out to 3

Im tuning as low as I ever have before (never had a box tuned below 40hz before)

Not going for SPL really, just wanna see how it sounds...

those were great subs when they came out. ive got a few of them down in my storage.

Come winter, Im going for my first wall, already have the 4 15" AQ's, just need to pick up another soundstream amp, big alt, and the wall obviously.

I just need the space in the summer for girls/camping/quads.

Notice I made sure the back seats recline fully to lol

i feel you bro! you go backpacking?? that is my life in aboyt 4 weeks! haha! sierras here i come! Im happy and sad that i have a truck! haha.

Not so much backpacking, maybe some day trips for cliffjumping. More so weekend trips with buddies getting sloppy lol

Cant wait to wake up and temp hookup that amp. Gonna try both regular and inverted mount and see if it sounds any different

I thought the wild beasts lite up on the dust cap??Anyway those aren't that bad.Deffinitly a down grade.

And way only 1/2" MDF.

whats with the build out in the corner of the box next to the ports?

There is a raised wheel well there, the indent allows for the box to set around it and snug into the corner still getting the space I wanted.

Just gotta go to the store to get some ring terminals and it should be wired in a bit here

Very impressed with the SQ of that sub, sounds awesome and i havent done any tuning to it. Not as deep as the 2 Aq 15's obviously, but still hit good and played rock very nicely, which is just what I wanted it to do.

Ended up going inverted...
