This is my decision to make I could get anyone of these for basically the same price...its for a subarban. I listen to Metal (lots of fast double bass and bass lines)..I need a tight sound but filling(SQ user)....any ideas?
myself and mostly everyone ive talked to has said the opposite about the xxx/brahma...brahma and xxx are nearly interchangeable (brahma has a little more spl, but xxx has a tad more sq, but not noticeable unless ur looking for it) and i dunno about the idmax, but i've heard they slam.
from the 10s i've heard, thats what i gathered //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gifmyself and mostly everyone ive talked to has said the opposite about the xxx/brahma...
the idmax doesnt have near the thermal power handling as either of these subs...if your running a low amount of power any of these subs will give killer results if done correctly...but if you want to run 1k+ the xxx and brahma are in a whole other class than the idmax imo
Blah....I hate when people use terminology like that.........It just keeps the old myth going that 10's should for some reason be more accurate than larger subs.it hits just as clean and precise as any 10inch woofer in a sealed setup
Laws of physics, Squeak. A smaller diameter cone makes for less chance of cone flex or uneven weight, which would result in distortion. On top of that, an 18 would need a 4.5" voice coil to scale with a 10" cone and a 2.5" voice coil. Again, a bigger chance of off-center movement. Not to mention a longer/larger surround, bigger spider, and larger basket, all of which pose the risk of being made off center.Blah....I hate when people use terminology like that.........It just keeps the old myth going that 10's should for some reason be more accurate than larger subs.
Good try. No prize.Laws of physics, Squeak. A smaller diameter cone makes for less chance of cone flex or uneven weight, which would result in distortion. That and the fact that it will only result in uneven frequency response, On top of that, an 18 would need a 4.5" voice coil to scale with a 10" cone and a 2.5" voice coil. Again, a bigger chance of off-center movement. Not to mention a longer/larger surround, bigger spider, and larger basket, all of which pose the risk of being made off center.
lol please explain more, I'd like to hear this. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gifGood try. No prize.
