15" DC LVL 4 vs. 12" SSA Icon

So, i've basically decided it's between these two subs to pick from. I only have 1200 at 1om, and I know both will take it. I've heard both smash the lows, and still get loud. Basically looking for opinions, would be great if anyone could chime in who has owned one, or both. Thanks.

i had a ssa icon 15 it. in my opinion, the icon is a sq sub not spl. of course thats my opinion. the dc would get louder just saying. go with dc

i ahve the icon 12 ad it does smash the lows but i do agree it is a sp orinented sub.but does have some potenial to get loud

Two different subs, both in design and size. I have a DC LVL 4 18" and off 1200w its nice, very nice. But the Icons are very nice sounding subs too. I would go with the DC just based on the size difference, if you got room for bigger why not?

Hahah, well, I more so asked about the 15" DC cause I can pick one up with a box tuned for it for around $300, so I was just wondering. It will more than likely be the DC. Thanks guys.

Both of these are correct. You need to decide what your goals are, not just take "opinions" most of which have not heard or used both drivers, unless you just care about a bigger cone.
