15" Brahma MKIV, JL 500.1 HELP!

I am going to be installing this soon and I was wondering....

Should I go sealed or ported, I like to get lowww

Also The Brahma I have is d2, leaving me with 1ohm or 4 ohms, The JL says 1.5-4 ohms for operation, but has anyone tried to run it at 1ohm?

Dont run the jl at 1 ohm. It will go into protect. Try the amp at 4ohm. If thats not enough power then get another amp that will run at 1 ohm. I would say to stay away from cheap amps though, they probabily wont sound any better than the jl.

i agree, run the JL at 4 ohm and port the brahma. i fed my 12/15 600-800 watts ported daily. and it hit extremely hard for the power it had.

those jl's are very nice amps, id probably just run it at 4 ohm(should be enough power) and port it. not too sure on the boxes the new MKIV's like as i havent read up on them. but im sure there still great drivers.

i think that jl also produces max power at 4 ohms anyways

ported will be louder but the REAL low stuff will be louder in a sealed setup and have better sq overall

run it at 4 ohms. it does the same rated power whether it's at 1.5, 2, 3 or 4 ohms. so @4ohms you'll be getting that 500rms (or w/e it is).

adire's drivers are good, but i just traded off my 12" MKIII brahma.

but i say seal it up. you'll be quite surprised.
