15 CVX on a zx1500

would this sub handle this amp the zx1500 im thinking of buying has a birthsheet of 1700 watts@14.4 volts i have this sub on a directed 1500d @2ohms 800 watts it puts out good spl but im looking for a little more when i play the meca test cd @45hz with my h/u at max the sub looks like it wants more power theres no distortion at all woofer looks like its not moving

I wouldn't do it...My cvx struggled with my zx750 on it (900rms) They don't take much more than rms.

i beg to differ... i think that 15 will take it like nothin... i got my 12 inche cvx hooked up to my 1200D X-file and i feed it 1100 watts daily n it takes it like a champ.... i would go for it

i have my 15 on 800 watts and the sub barely moves with h/u maxed but its still loud as hell

to be safe maybe i should go with zx1000 its rated @ 1200 watts give or take

well depends on the user, enclosure,etc...they will take well over the RMS, if it's a good clean signal, like any other driver.
