I have an older 13w7... not sure I would sell it though. I am currently in love with my Ascendant Mayhem. The sub has to be one of my best purchases ever. I have had all the JL w7 series, and no matter what I would never hesitate to use one. They are good subs, over priced yes but they are good subs. I have used most of the major SQ and SPL subs but my favorite set up besides my Ascendant would be my 12w7. Had that in a custom sealed box i built in my ford focus on a Alpine PDX 1.1000. It metered 142 on music (legal reading) mind you this was in a sealed box in a sealed car as it was a down pour and I wasn't about to leave a window open! The shop near my family in michigan still has the score posted on their whiteboard in the store as the loudest single 12 on 1,000 watts or less.

long story short good luck with the 13w7 build. I just got a new ride (1998 Grand Prix GTP) and I think I am going to build a new box today and buy a bigger amp.

On another note Kramer, the T1's I got from ya will probably be my rear mid-bass in this car. I plan on doing the interior when I get back from Hawaii the end of November. they never went in the buick because I decided to sell (didn't want to give away more speakers, wire, amps and headunits than I had to!!)

yeah thanks........yeah those midbasses are sweet, get pretty loud, and sound good, if you didn't buy them i was going to put them in my rear doors i had the rings cut out and everything lol...... good to see you are happy with them.

I garantee most of the people NOT recommending JL 13w7 haven't used them or either haven't used them properly (i.e. right amount of power, correct enclosure, etc).

I've used 95% of these subs out here (FI, DC, TC, RE, Skar, AQ, etc etc etc) and I'm here to tell you that very few (acutally only two come to mind) of those subs outperform the 13w7 OVERALL. Sure you can get a bunch to be louder SPL wise but for the performance to space given up ratio, the w7 will almost always win! I absolutely HATE JL as a whole and as a company and would NEVER EVER EVER buy one of their subs brand new unless the deal is too good to be true. Just putting that out there b/c I'm not bias to JL. But the w7 is a tought competitor. I'll gladly show anyone what they'll do and what they're capable of in the correct install if anyone wants to come to NC and take a listen! Only subs that come to mind that can hang with it SQ/SPL/SQL wise that come to my mind out of the thousands of subs I've owned are the Adire Brahma 15 and a few TC Sounds subs (LMS, UE, etc).

Help the man find what he wants....you're wasting your time trying to convince him otherwise as he obviously knows what he wants!

FREAKIN THANK YOU

so many people are willing to knock the W7 without having any experience with it.

i personally had the 13.5 w7 and i liked it. got nasty low and did it well sold it thought its just another sub, any sub can do that. got some punk *** sundown sa 10s in a custom boxed built to specs after displacement and they get loud dont get me wrong but they dont get low by any means no where near the way the one w7 sounded like not even half way. im selling this punk *** tens and getting another w7. pll talk about jl w7 but that sub knocks hard and does it well

Its good you didnt let the anti-JL crowd get to you, you got what you wanted and thats that. I like JL but at the same time I can see why people hate, because not everyone can afford them. The whole reason I like their stuff is because its QUALITY stuff. Its made with ******* QUALITY. Every JL thing Ive ever owned has been super nice QUALITY stuff. Its like the whole Lexus/Honda thing, they both do the same thing, but one has better **** and cost more. Every thing (well to be fair, they have low lines too) JL is quality, from their packaging/manuals, to the mounting feet on their amps, to the fit, finish of their subs, and guess what? It cost money for them to offer you nice ****.
